The short answer
MasterFix HVAC Repair Service repairs furnaces, air conditioners, and heat pumps in Fremont and Newark, with 24/7 emergency service available. Bay Area Air District rules don't require you to replace working equipment, so repair is often a sensible option.
MasterFix HVAC Repair Service travels from our San Jose base to repair heating and cooling systems in southern Alameda County, including Fremont and Newark. The drive is roughly 24 miles, so we plan routes and stock our vans to finish as many repairs as possible on the first visit. Below you'll find what we work on, how a service call goes, and what current Bay Area appliance rules mean if your furnace or water heater is getting old.
What We Repair in Fremont and Newark Homes
Most calls from southern Alameda County fall into a few groups. We diagnose the problem first, explain what we found, and let you decide before any work starts.
- Gas furnaces that won't ignite, shut off too soon, or blow cold air
- Central air conditioners that run but don't cool, freeze up, or trip the breaker
- Heat pumps stuck in one mode or struggling to keep up
- Thermostat, wiring, and control board faults
- Blower motors, capacitors, and fan problems
- Weak airflow from clogged filters, blocked vents, or leaky ducts
- Condensate drain clogs and water pooling around the indoor unit
How a Service Call Works
When you book, we ask what type of system you have, what it's doing, and when the problem started. That helps the technician bring the parts most likely to be needed. On site, we check the whole system, not just the part that failed, because one fault often points to another.
You get a plain explanation of your options. If a repair makes sense, we do it. If the system is aging and repairs keep adding up, we'll tell you so and walk through replacement choices without pressure.
24/7 Emergency Service
Heating and cooling failures don't wait for business hours, so we offer 24/7 emergency service for Fremont and Newark. Shut the system off and contact us right away if you see scorch marks on wiring, smell burning, or hear grinding from the unit. If you smell gas, leave the home first and call your gas utility.
Repair or Replace Under Bay Area Air District Rules
Alameda County falls under the Bay Area Air District, just like San Jose. Its appliance rules do not require you to replace working equipment. They apply only when an existing furnace or water heater fails or is replaced.
Under Rule 9-4, natural gas furnaces manufactured from 2029 must meet a zero-NOx emission standard, which in practice points homeowners toward heat pumps when a furnace is replaced after that date. For small water heaters, Rule 9-6 set a zero-NOx date of 2027, but the Air District Board is considering amendments in November 2026 that could delay it. Check the current rule before planning a water heater replacement.
On incentives, the federal Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit (25C) covered qualifying heat pumps placed in service before December 31, 2025, and it isn't available for new installations after that date. BayREN and your local clean energy provider may offer heat pump and electrification incentives. Amounts and availability change by funding cycle, so we confirm the current offer before quoting it.
